Ardita Berisha

For the past five years, Ardita has emerged into a prominent teacher at ASK. She holds a B.S. in Biology from the Faculty of Natural Science, University of Prishtina, and she is currently pursuing her specialization in teaching Biology at the Faculty of Education, Prishtina. Her endeavor to passionately, patiently and professionally teach students has led her to quickly become a respected part of the learning community. Previously, she completed an internship at Medilab-Human, where she gave her contribution in laboratory analytical processes of Hematology and Biochemistry; conducted experiments to achieve Biological research objectives, and maintained bio-repository for all specimens collected.
As a volunteer of numerous programs about Kosovo’s youth activities, including UNICEF and PEN education she has eagerly adopted great experience in understanding, communicating, and collaborating with children. Ardita believes that the youth are our future, therefore, she’s dedicated to doing her part in improving their lives.If she’s not by her work desk, she can be found recharging herself with a good book, listening to music, watching tv or working out.

Mjellma Piperku

Mjellma Piperku has joined the ASK team this year, but she has 4 years of experience in education. She teaches Middle School Mathematics. She has a bachelorā€™s degree. She loves calculations and science , and has participated in many workshops. She has been in lots of different professional training in the past years and possesses many certificates and prizes. Her favorite learning quote is:

Valon Gashi

Valon Gashi has been with ASK for nine years as a Health and PE teacher. He has studied and finished his Master’s Degree at the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Prishtina. He was a representative of the Kosovo Football Team U18 in Denmark, and has also played for FC Prishtina for four years. Valon also holds a Rescue Diver License under PADI scuba diving school.

In addition to that Valon also is the Vice president of the Prishtina Diving Club. Valon loves sports and is thrilled to teach his students everything about them. He believes that every child is capable and able to achieve any dream that they have for themselves. He is caring, inspiring, and engages in any atmosphere that helps kids grow emotionally, intellectually, and socially. As an educator he wants to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing a safe, risk-taking, and collaborative environment. Valon believes that elementary education is essential to creating successful life-long learners. His favorite quote is: ā€œJust because you deserve it, doesnā€™t mean it has to come at you, youā€™ll have to fight for it.ā€

Linda Gorci

Linda GorƧi has been with ASK for 7 months. She is a teacherā€™s assistant in Kindergarten. She holds a Bachelorā€™s Degree in Early childhood education and development from the Faculty of Education at the University of Prishtina. She is kind and passionate when it comes to working with kids. Her experience working with kids began when she worked as a Montessori caregiver for 3 years for an international family. She has also participated in various internships in private and public sectors for kindergarten, in Prishtina. Her favorite learning quote is, ā€œThe greatest sign of success for a teacher… is to be able to say, ā€˜The children are now working as if I did not exist.ā€™ ā€œMaria Montessori

Zoge Shala

Zoge Shala is the school Counselor/Psychologist and Teacher of Psychology/Sociology at American School of Kosovo. She has attended the University of Pristina where she studied History, later on to continue at the University of Tetovo in Macedonia from where she got her Master’s Degree in the field of Psychology. As a part of her long life learning process, she is currently adding Nursing as one of her specializations. For the past 13 years, she has worked with preschool, elementary, and high school students. Except for ASK, she has previously worked for about four years at the St. Nicholas School in Canterbury-England. In the meantime, she has also been a worker in different schools and kindergartens in Kosovo. She is very passionate about her work, and enjoys every day the support that she continuously provides to her students’ academic, social, and emotional life.

Nora Hafizademi

Nora Hafizademi has been with ASK going on 4 years.
She is the Learning Specialist for the ASK Elementary, Middle and High Schools.
She has a bachelorā€™s degree In Community Health and Human Education and a Masterā€™s degree in Special Education EC-12 grades.

She is the loving mother of two beautiful bright girls and has lived and worked in over 7 different countries worldwide.
Ms. Nora is trained and certified in numerous of training in her educational line of work including health, psychology, all core subjects, management and administration.

Gentiana Bicaj

Gentiana Bicaj has been working as an English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher for more than six years now. She has joined the American School of Kosova in 2020, working with students from the 1st to the 5th grade. She has earned a Bachelorā€™s degree in English Language and Literature, as well as a Masterā€™s in Philological Sciences, specifically English Linguistics. Her teaching philosophy focuses on studentsā€™ motivation, since she strongly believes that learning happens the most when students are intrinsically motivated. Hence, she strives to create engaging and authentic lessons, adequate for each studentā€™s needs. Her teaching methodology is inspired by Alfred Mercier’s quote: “What we learn with pleasure, we never forget”.

Elfete Gashi

Elfete Gashi has been with ASK for nine years as a Health and PE teacher, and for two years as the Athletic Director. She has studied and mastered in the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Prishtina. She loves sports and is thrilled to teach her students about sports.
Elfete believes every child is unique and deserves a caring, inspiring, and engaging atmosphere in which to grow emotionally, intellectually, and socially. As an educator she wants to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing a safe, risk-taking, and collaborative environment.
Elfete believes our students can and will develop positive characters and leadership traits which are essential in becoming productive citizens.
Elfete is a firm believer that a positive elementary education is essential to creating successful life-long learners.

Kadrije Berisha

I was born in the municipality of Ferizaj, where I also finished high school in this city. I am a graduate of the University of Prishtina, Faculty of Philology, branch: Albanian Language and Literature. I also completed my Master studies with the topic: System of Teaching and Learning Strategies. I worked as a teacher for 18 years in public schools and especially for a long period in the school “Hasan Prishtina” in Prishtina, before I started working in the school KAS. I now work as a professor of Albanian Language and Literature at the American School of Kosovo. This is the 15th year, where I teach teaching in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade in our school – KAS. I worked for several years as a teacher with students of different ages at the Cambridge School International School in Prishtina. I was a member of the group of experts for curriculum development – MEST during 2003. For three years I was a member of the Workshop at the Summit “Kosovo Learning Kosovo” on “Teaching and Learning Strategies” organized by KAS. I have attended trainings of MKLSH (organized by MEST), “American Corner” in Prishtina, by “KEDP” with the Student in the Center, “Step by Step” etc. As a mentor I am certified by MEST for internship students in the classroom. I have attended various other trainings from KETNET as well as from KAS, organized in our school.

Albulena Lahi

AlbulenaĀ LahiĀ has been a teacher of Albanian Literature at ASK since 2020. She has completed her high school education at the Niko Nestor General Gymnasium, along with her Bachelor’s and Mater’s Degree at the University of Prishtina in Albanian Literature. In addition to her daily job, she writes poetry and deals with editing scientific writings. She has worked before as an Albanian language teacher, has held training as an Administrative Assistant where she is even certified in. Her favorite quote is, “Good friends, good books and a clear conscience: this is the ideal life.”
